1. Introduction
This Content and Privacy Policy governs the use of the Hani Bookstore educational mobile application. Our application is designed specifically for Kindergarten (KG), elementary, and school-age students. Our primary goal is to provide a safe, interactive, ad-free learning environment that complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Google Play's Families Policy guidelines.
2. Account Access and Authentication
Admin-Provisioned Accounts (No Self-Registration)
Students cannot register or create accounts directly within the mobile application. All student accounts are provisioned and managed offline by participating schools, educational institutions, or system administrators. Students log in using pre-assigned credentials provided by their school administrator.
3. Data Collection and Usage
A. Profile Personalization & Avatar Picker
The application allows students to customize their profile in the "My Profile" screen:
- Avatar Selection & Upload: Students can choose from pre-set avatar illustrations or set a personal profile picture using the system image picker or camera.
- Purpose: Photos and selected avatars are used solely for in-app personalization within the student's personal account dashboard.
- Data Protection: Profile pictures are stored securely, are never visible to other students or external users, and are never shared, published, or sold to third parties.
B. Educational Progress & Activity Telemetry
To track student achievements (stars, badges, trophies, completed lessons, and exercise scores as shown on the home map and profile screens), the app logs non-personal educational activity data. This data is processed exclusively to track personal learning progress and generate performance reports for teachers and school administrators.
C. Data Minimization
We only store essential profile data (student name, grade level, and assigned username) provided by the educational institution. We do not collect precise location data, biometric data, device identifiers, or personal contacts.
4. Account and Data Deletion Policy
Because accounts are provisioned externally by educational institutions rather than created directly by users in-app, individual users cannot delete accounts directly within the mobile app interface. Account and data deletion is managed administratively:
- Deletion Requests: School administrators, parents, or legal guardians can request the full deletion of a student account, profile avatar, or progress history at any time.
- How to Request: Send a request to our support team at support@yourdomain.com.
- Processing: Upon receiving a verified request from an authorized parent or school representative, all associated account data, activity logs, and profile images will be permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days.
5. Monetization and Safety Safeguards
- 100% Ad-Free: The application contains zero third-party advertisements or ad tracking SDKs.
- No In-App Purchases (IAP): There are no paid upgrades, digital store items, or financial transactions inside the app. Access is managed via institutional agreements.
- No Social Features or Public Messaging: The app contains no chat rooms, public forums, or direct messaging. Students cannot communicate with each other or external users.
- Closed Environment: To ensure child safety, the app operates as a closed system without external links, social media sharing buttons, or open web browser redirects.
6. Content Integrity
All learning modules, activities, audio prompts, and exercises are created and vetted by our educational team. Users cannot upload public user-generated content. All content is free from inappropriate material and designed to support fundamental learning stages.
